The Fari project, financed by the 2014-2020 PON "Legality" Fund, is implemented by ASL Taranto (lead partner), ASL Lecce, ASL Brindisi and Camera a Sud Aps.

The project envisages targeted actions to protect the health of vulnerable applicants and holders of international protection status in the region, through the development of specific and coherent assistance, counselling and in itinere and long-term training programmes, as well as the strengthening of the various competences of the regional health system, particularly in the three provinces of Taranto, Lecce and Brindisi.

There are three macro areas of the project

• the activation of the linguistic and cultural mediation service at the three Local Health Authorities;
• a training course for medical staff;
• The creation of an APP useful for using the social and health service.

The APP FARI Sanità per Stranieri (Health for Foreigners), available on the Apple App Store (for IOS) and on Play Store (for Android), is designed to provide beneficiaries from non-EU countries with the necessary information to guide them in their health and social-health care pathways and keep them in constant contact with the staff responsible for accompaniment and mediation.

The APP allows the use of content in 10 languages and displays information in two ways:

Free access: foreigners can freely access all the information content and receive push notifications of alerts sent by the ASL.

Access after registration: registered foreigners can use the following additional services:

• Chat with mediators
• Forwarding of reports to the ASL
