If you need assistance with anything to do with motherhood, pregnancy or parenting, you can turn to the family advice centres, where you can find: 

• psychological and social assistance for the preparation and support of parenthood; 

• psychological support for the individual, the couple or the family unit; 

• services to protect and support women's health; 

• prevention of ill-treatment and abuse to the detriment of minors and women; 

• gynecological and pediatric medical examinations; 

• birth preparation courses; 

• medically assisted reproduction. 

You do not need a doctor's prescription to access the services of the family advice centre. You can go directly to the service on the days and at the times when it is open to the public, or you can phone to make an appointment with one of the professionals at the advice centre (gynaecologist, midwife, psychologist or social worker). The services provided are free of charge.
